There are organizations in the state of NH that can help you gain access to care regardless of your ability to pay. Many providers have financial counselors that can assist you with discounts or payment plans when needed, even for those with high deductibles.  Hospitals are required by law to provide a discount equal to that give to insurance companies (or their members).  Please refer to the cost of care portion of this site to see details on the discounts offered to uninsured.

Emergency rooms are open 24 hours a day for injuries or illnesses that pose a threat to someone's life or long-term health. If you have a medical emergency, go to the closest hospital -- you'll be treated regardless of your ability to pay.
